BC Theatre Arts Privacy Policy

How we will use and share your personal data
This notice explains how BC Theatre Arts will collect, use or otherwise process your and your child’s personal data ("your data"). “Personal data” is information relating to you as a living, identifiable individual.


What information may we hold about you?
The types of personal data that we collect from you are: Name, address, email address, contact telephone number, child’s date of birth.


We may also generate personal data about you in connection with our classes such as photographs of our students for use on our website and social media.

 

The purpose and legal basis for processing your personal data 
Processing of your personal data is essential to be able to deliver theatre training to your child at your request.  We also have a legitimate interest in creating an excellent theatre school and student experience. To that end, we will use your details to provide you with information about our classes and activities. We may also send you questionnaires or surveys about our classes and the School.

 

We will ask for your consent to take, store and use photographs of your child for our website and social media. You have the right to withdraw your consent for this at any time by contacting us. 


Information relating to health or wellbeing
It may be necessary for us to process some sensitive personal data in relation to any health or wellbeing concerns which are relevant to your child’s safety during their classes.  We use this information only to be able to provide first-aid or to make other reasonable adjustments in their vital interests. 


To consequence if you decide not to provide data
If you decide not to supply personal data that we have requested, we may not be able to provide theatre training.


Who will see or use your data and who might we share it with? 
We may need to share your data with relevant third parties for example, The Dang and Imperial Society of Teachers of  Dancing, for the purposes of facilitating examinations for your child.


How long will we keep your information
We expect to retain your information for as long as your child is attending classes at the school. If you return to the School at a later date, you will be asked to provide the necessary information as a new student. 


Your rights over your information
You have the right to request copies of the personal data we hold about you. If you wish to obtain a copy of your personal data, you may contact us by emailing bcox.7176@gmail.com. You also have the right to ask for inaccuracies in your data to be corrected, and in certain circumstances for us to stop processing your data or for your data to be erased. Some of these rights are not automatic, and we reserve the right to discuss with you why we might not comply with a request from you to exercise
them.
